Tool Specific Tips
AIR HEATERS
- Heat transfer and element life depend upon good air flow: do not block the air flow by allowing a kink in the hose
BITUMAT
- It is recommended the BITUMAT be run with the temperature dial lower than 9, and not at 9 or 10.
- BITUMAT Tech Tips, includes:
- Before turning the tool on
- Before shutting the power off
- Changing the element
- Symptom: Bad tracking, membrane burns, folds
- Symptom: Temperature is not steady, it floats up and down
- Symptom: Hot Cord

FUSION
- FUSION 1:
- Do not operate the tool without supplied filters
- Brushes should be replaced after 500 hours of service - we recommend sending the tool to our Repair Centre, due to the size of this tool brush replacement is more complex
- FUSION 2 & 3C:
- As recommended by Leister: weld at maximum speed. If this is too fast, then Leister recommends using 3mm instead of 4mm welding rod. This lowers the output. Maximum speed is not only better for cooling the gearbox, but also for the lifespan of the drive motor and the gearbox.
- Do not operate the Extruder without the stainless steel filter as it is designed to protect element & motor from contamination.

GHIBLI
Symptom: Bad welds or low air volume
- Check that the air intake at the blower handle is clear of dust and debris. Clean it with a soft brush to remove any blockage.
- Check the air slide at the air intake. Turn it clockwise for more heat or counter-clockwise for more air volume.
GROOVER
- Tool is not picking up debris or blowing smoke: Check that the blade is not on backwards.
- Blade recommendations: Use the tungsten carbide tipped blade for linoleum and PVC flooring and the diamond cutting blade for anti-slip floors such as those that contain sand or quartz.
HEMTEK
HOTWIND
- The HOTWIND must be supplied with cool clean air or used with a filter: In particularly dusty environments or in environments where the impurities are very small, the filter should be covered with stocking material and checked from time to time to ensure it is not clogged. Impurities at the shaft bearings will cause noise and eventually prevent the HOTWIND turbine from turning at start-up.
SARNAMATIC
SARNAMATIC 661
SARNAMATIC 641MC
- Error 6
Occurs if the nozzle is in the welding position at power-up
Also occurs if the power to the SARNAMATIC cuts out and comes back on while the tool is in use. Power will drop if there is a poor connection in the cord or plug, and due to overload or contaminated fuel when using a generator.
SARNAMATIC 641MC
- An error is displayed while the tool is cooling down
Answer: This is not a problem. Errors that come up while the SARNAMATIC is cooling down can be ignored. - Error 7
Occurs if the nozzle is in the welding position at power-up
Also occurs if the power to the SARNAMATIC cuts out and comes back on while the tool is in use. Power will drop if there is a poor connection in the cord or plug, and due to overload or contaminated fuel when using a generator. - Error 8
Occurs if the heat is not turned off at power-up
Also occurs if the power to the SARNAMATIC cuts out and comes back on while the tool is in use. Power will drop if there is a poor connection in the cord or plug, and due to overload or contaminated fuel when using a generator.
TRIAC
- TRIAC Tech Tips, includes:

TWINNY
- TWINNY T - Error 100 after turning the heat on: Check that the blower is switched on.
UNIDRIVE
- Correct pressure on the pressure roller
- Setting the parameter units from °C to °F
- Correct welding and detail connection welding straight
- Incorrect correction of the welding direction
- Correct handling in case of change welding direction
- Correct device guidance
- Adjusting 40mm nozzle
- Nozzle adjustment 30-40mm and support wheel setting
- Wrong insertion of the nozzle
- Cool down the UNIDRIVE 500
- Overlapp attika welding
- Cleaning nozzle with brass brush
UNIFLOOR
Symptom: Bad welds or low air volume
- Check that the air intake at the blower handle is clear of dust and debris. Clean it with a soft brush to remove any blockage.
- Check the air slide at the air intake. Turn it clockwise for more heat or counter-clockwise for more air volume.
UNIPLAN
UNIROOF
- Symptom: Bad welds or low air volume: Check that the air intake at the blower handle is clear of dust and debris. Clean it with a soft brush to remove any blockage. UNIROOF S/E: Check the air slide at the air intake. Turn it clockwise for more heat or counter-clockwise for more air volume.

VARIANT
- What to Check if your VARIANT T1 Stops in the Middle of a Weld
- Machine is not running straight: Refer to page 35 of the operating manual and follow the directions given under "Hot-air welding machine moves away from the weld". Adjusting the fine track adjustment lever clockwise adjusts the tracking to the right, and counter-clockwise adjusts it to the left. A test weld must be completed to verify that the tracking is adjusted properly, running the machine without material will not test this properly.
VARIMAT
- VARIMAT Tech Tips, includes:
- Symptom: The VARIMAT does not start driving when the ELECTRON is placed in the weld position, or it starts briefly and then stops driving
- Symptom: The VARIMAT suddenly turns off and on, or does not turn on at all
- Symptom: Temperature is not steady, it floats up and down
- Symptom: The VARIMAT V displays the desired temperature but fails to reach the desired temperature
- Symptom: Bad tracking, membrane burns, folds
