How to Check and Correct the Nozzle Position on a VARIMAT

4/8/2017

Picture
  • Check that the nozzle is clear of membrane residue. If there is any, heat the VARIMAT and clean using a wire brush.  Cool down the VARIMAT and shut it off.
  • Check the nozzle angle. With the VARIMAT on a flat surface, check that the small end of the nozzle opening is the only point touching the surface, with the rest of the opening and the bottom surface less than 1mm above it.

  • For a VARIMAT V2 the end of the nozzle should be 40 to 44 mm from the drive tire’s point of contact with the membrane. The wide end of the nozzle opening should be 1 to 2 mm outside of the drive tire.
  • If the nozzle position is wrong, loosen the two slotted screws holding down the guide bar that the Electron heater slides on and move the guide bar. Tighten the slotted screws and recheck the nozzle position.
