Interpreting VARIMAT V2 Error Codes

​Receiving an error message while on the roof can be extremely frustrating. Below you’ll find the common error codes you may encounter and an explanation of what they mean.

Error Code	Description	Action Required
Acoustic warning – no code displayed	Difference between the set point and actual welding temperature is greater than 20°C	Decrease the airflow until the desired temperature is achieved
​Error 01	Air temperature is over the rated limit or the thermocouple is defective	​Bring the tool to STANMECH for service
Error 02	​Heating element is defective (interruption in one/both windings)	Change the heating element See our Tech Tip for instructions.
Error 04	Triac heat control component is defective (one or both in air heater)	​Bring the tool to STANMECH for service
Error 08	Blower motor or drive motor is defective	​Bring the tool to STANMECH for service
Error 40	Supply voltage is under the rated voltage of the tool by 25% or more	Check generator: Ensure fuel is clean Ensure generator has enough capacity 6,000W minimum for only VARIMAT 10,000W minimum for VARIMAT and one hand tool
