VARIANT T1 Tech Tips

4/11/2017

Machine is not running straight
  • Refer to page 35 of the operating manual and follow the directions given under "Hot-air welding machine moves away from the weld". Adjusting the fine track adjustment lever clockwise adjusts the tracking to the right, and counter-clockwise adjusts it to the left. A test weld must be completed to verify that the tracking is adjusted properly, running the machine without material will not test this properly.

Please consider the following when connecting a new plug to your VARIANT T1:
  • You must use 20 Amp or higher twist-lock plug
  • The VARIANT T1 is single phase

  • Connect the black wire to the other pin directly left or right of the bent tab
  • If using a 4 prong plug, leave the pin opposite the one with the bent tab disconnected

Please consider the following when making an extension cord for your VARIANT T1:
  • Use a 10 Gauge or thicker cable if you plan to make a 100 ft or longer extension cord
