WELDMAX Tips

WELDMAX

  • Warming up the WELDMAX before use:
    • The WELDMAX has a safety feature that protects it from extruding at too low a temperature. Generally, set the Plast temp. to 240 and the hot air to 300, then wait until the digital display stops flashing. Once the actual temp display is the same as the set display, the WELDMAX will stop flashing and the WELDMAX is ready to use. Do not set the Plast temp past the melting point of the plastic because over-heating of the extrudate inside the tool can cause a fire.

  • Changing of Welding Shoe:
    • DO NOT CHANGE THE WELDING SHOE WHEN THE TOOL IS COLD.
    • DO NOT TWIST OR BEND THE WELDING SHOE WHEN SLIDING THE WELDING SHOE OFF THE EXTRUDATE NOZZLE. JUST SLIDE THE WELDING SHOE OFF THE CERAMIC NOZZLE AFTER LOOSING THE TWO SET SCREWS.

  • Cool Down of WELDMAX after use:
    • Turn down the hot air temperature to zero and continue to blow air thorough the WELDMAX until the hot air has reached room temperature. Do not turn off the WELDMAX with full heat on because you could damage the element.

  • Recommended Air and Plast Settings:
    • For both PE & PP set the Air to 300 and the Plast to 240

  • Use the correct plug and wire, as detailed in the wiring instructions.
