Automotive Applications
STANMECH chooses from a suite of equipment including Leister’s range of hot air heaters, blowers, and hot air hand tools and JetAir’s range of direct-drive blowers and custom air knives in order to create the optimal solution for each individual application. STANMECH can recommend a single tool or design a custom system to address unique application problems in the automotive industry.
We can design, fabricate, and integrate an application specific system including:
- Individually selected tools
- Custom nozzles and heat tunnels

Our tools can handle an array of tasks, use them to:
- Blow out residual water after washing
- Remove water, coolant, dust and scrap from virtually any surface
- Burn out polystyrene cores from casting moulds
- Heat up aluminum prior to imprinting to accelerate the printing process
- Pre-heat plastic surfaces before welding
- Weld plastics using hot air
- Anneal glass against breaking after forming, plastic parts such as automobile headlights after moulding to reduce stress, or plastic parts after welding
- Laminate car windshields
- Cool parts
- Activate hot-melt adhesive, cure and accelerate bonding (e.g., curing cast motor rotors, installing windshields, etc.)
- Melt self-bonding wire on coils and transformers
- Cure powder coatings on air and oil filters, and aluminum or other metal parts
- Heat up gear rings to be slid onto axles
- Apply polyester fleece on membrane
- Bend and bond of interior door panels without adhesive
- Heat up plastic parts for riveting
- Burn in paint
- Cure and dry paint quickly without dust or air currents
- Run various temperature profiles for ball bearing fatigue tests
- Burn out diesel soot while cleaning soot filters
