NuMED Canada Inc. of Cornwall, Ont. is happy with their productivity as a result of STANMECH's products. "We have had not problems meeting our increased demands, and our customers are very happy with our delivery times," says Del LaFleche, General Manager.

NuMED has purchased a range of products from STANMECH: Leister heat guns, a Diode, one welding pen, six Leister Labor "S" hot air guns and six Robust blower motors. Until three years ago they had been using the Hot Jet S hot air welding tool.

"This is a very good unit," explains Del, "but it was not designed to be working eight hours per day. This resulted in a high consumption of brushes and a lot of down time to repair these units. We switched to our present equipment and our down time was greatly reduced, which in turn reduced our operating costs and increased our productivity." Del reveals that they're considering the welding pen as their main welding tool, because it responds very quickly to temperature controls.

Del also has thoughts about STANMECH's staff and service. "STANMECH staff have proven to be very committed to their customers. They are pleasant and cordial," he says. "They have a facility that is available to do testing for their customers. On a few occasions we have taken advantage of this service."

Francois Vaillancourt, purchasing manager for Groupe Bedard/Beacon Canada of Montreal, turned to STANMECH to provide a Varimat and Triac Hand Welder for the necessary function of welding PVC membrane. The equipment is performing well.

Francois also thinks well of STANMECH's staff. "We are very happy and satisfied with them," he says. "They are always available to give us time when we request it and they always call back to see if we need something else."

Brent Sereres of Mississauga's Poly Pro Welding has not a single bad thing to say about STANMECH. On the contrary, he says he finds the staff courteous and knowledgeable, and the service fast and efficient.

"They don't mislead me on repairs," he adds. "They take the equipment, analyse the situation, then give me accurate and concise details for the repairs."

As for products, Brent says "I purchased a Leister Hot Jet S and it's been my constant companion for welding for three years. When I compare it to the trials and tribulations I used to have with my old equipment, I honestly don't know how I got along with it."

Brent points out that "the difference between the Hot Jet and hot tipping with a Triac is the equivalent to the difference between parking a bicycle or parking a bus. The Hot Jet S is vastly superior."

The result has been improved productivity. "The temperature variation and air volume adjustments allow me to perform repairs on material as thin as 1/16," Brent explains. "The adjustment also allows me to use as thick as 5 mm welding rod. The speed of the welding itself is not faster but the ability to weld in smaller places allows a larger number of repairs to be performed."

Brent has a final word about STANMECH's service. "I have my other Leister equipment serviced at STANMECH and have been completely satisfied with both the workmanship and timely service."
